Dan Marino is a former American football player, quarterback, and Pro Football Hall of Fame member. He held the NFL record for most passing yards in a single season, which stood for nearly 30 years. In 1984 with the Miami Dolphins, Marino led the team to a 14-2 season, threw for 5,084 yards and 48 touchdowns, and broke six passing records. That same year, he won the NFL MVP award. Marino quarterbacked the University of Pittsburgh Panthers to Fiesta and Sugar Bowl victories. He led the team to an 11-1 record in his freshman year and a win in the Sugar Bowl in his junior year. He appears in the documentary '85: The Greatest Team in Football History and the film Ace Ventura: Pet Detective alongside Jim Carrey and Courteney Cox.
