Gertrude Lawrence was an English actress, singer, dancer, and musical comedy performer. She began her film career with a role in The Battle of Paris and went on to appear in films such as Stage Door Canteen, The Glass Menagerie, and Rembrandt alongside Charles Laughton and Elsa Lanchester.  She also appeared in West End and Broadway productions. Lawrence has released songs including Someone To Watch Over Me, My Ship with Macdonald Carey, and This Is New.
