British actress
Elsa Lanchester was a British actress (1902-1986). After appearing in a handful of British films in the late 1920s and early 1930s, she moved to Hollywood with her husband, the actor Charles Laughton. She starred in 1935's The Bride of Frankenstein and later appeared in films such as Mystery Street, The Bishop's Wife, Witness for the Prosecution (for which she received the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress - Motion Picture), Bell, Book and Candle, That Darn Cat!, and Murder by Death.
