Willie "Big Eyes" Smith
American electric blues singer, harmonica player, and drummer (1936–2011)
Willie Big Eyes Smith was an American electric blues singer, harmonica player, and drummer (1936-2011). He joined the Muddy Waters band in the early 1960s and later co-founded The Legendary Blues Band in 1980.
Smith released his first solo recording, Bag Full of Blues, in 1995, followed by Nothin' But the Blues Y'all in 1999. He also released Eye to Eye with Pinetop Perkins and Ronnie Earl, and Harmonica Blues Orgy with Little Arthur Duncan. Among his popular songs are Eyesight to the Blind, Walkin' Down the Highway, and Cut That Out, all performed with Pinetop Perkins.
