American singer-songwriter and musician
Leon Russell was an American singer-songwriter and musician. He worked with myriad artists such as Jerry Lee Lewis, Bobby Darin, Phil Spector, Frank Sinatra, The Beach Boys, George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Willie Nelson, and The Rolling Stones. As a solo artist, Russell released albums including Carney, Leon Russell and the Shelter People, and Retrospective. His most popular songs include Tight Rope, Stranger In a Strange Land, and Lady Blue. Russell appeared in the documentary A Poem Is a Naked Person. He passed away in 2016.
