Lee Allen

American saxophonist (1927-1994)

Lee Allen was an American saxophonist. While in New Orleans for college, he began playing locally. In 1947, he joined Paul Gayten's band and later played with Dave Bartholomew and Smiley Lewis. He performed on hits by Fats Domino, Lloyd Price, and Little Richard. His most popular songs include Walkin' With Mr. Lee and Chattanooga Blues. Allen passed away in 1994.
