Jerome Kern was an American composer of musical theater and popular music. Kern wrote the song Ol' Man River from Show Boat and composed its score withOscar Hammerstein II. Kern received the Academy Award for Best Original Song for The Way You Look Tonight. Among his most popular songs are Make Believe and This Song Is You. Kern passed away in 1945.
