Wilder was a session vocalist in Los Angeles, singing for TV ads and stars such as Bette Midler. He wrote the soundtrack album for Mulan, collaborating with Jerry Goldsmith and David Zippel. Wilder has also produced notable albums, including No Doubt's Tragic Kingdom, and has worked with artists like Miley Cyrus, Christina Aguilera, and Selena Gomez.


He subsequently transitioned into musical theatre.
