Christina Aguilera

American singer, songwriter, and actress

Christina Aguilera is an American singer, songwriter, and actress who rose to fame with her 1999 hit single Genie in a Bottle. After releasing her self-titled debut album that same year — which included the follow-up hits What a Girl Wants and Come On Over Baby (All I Want is You) — she was named Best New Artist at the 42nd Grammy Awards.

Aguilera has frequently reinvented herself through her work: Her 2002 album Stripped featured the hit single Dirrty and broke away from her teen-pop roots, and her 2018 album Liberation delivered confessionals about trauma, family, and love. Aguilera was also one of the first pop musicians to have mainstream success in both the English and Spanish-language markets. Her most successful Latin project was 2000's Mi Reflejo, which won a Latin Grammy for Best Female Pop Vocal Album, and she often includes Spanish songs on her English-language projects.
Aguilera has collaborated with Nelly, Pitbull, Maroon 5, among many others, and won other Grammy Awards for her Moulin Rouge hit Lady Marmalade in 2002 and her A Great Big World team-up Say Something in 2015. She was a coach on The Voice for several years, and was featured in the music documentary Shine a Light. She provided voiceovers in Shark Tale and The Emoji Movie and appeared in the films Burlesque and Get Him to the Greek.
