Dorothy Dandridge was an American actress and singer (1922-1965). Dandridge performed as a vocalist at iconic venues like the Apollo Theatre and Cotton Club. She released singles like Taking a Chance on Love and That's All,  and starred in films such as Bright Road and Island In the Sun, both alongside Harry Belafonte, as well as Carmen Jones and The Harlem Globetrotters.
