Spanish-American actress, singer, comedian, and flamenco guitarist
Charo is a Spanish-American actress, singer, comedian, and flamenco guitarist. She was brought to the U.S. by bandleader Xavier Cugat in 1966, whom she married that same year. Charo studied flamenco guitar under Andrés Segovia. Her career highlights include appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show, The Love Boat, the reality series The Surreal Life and on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. She also starred in the films The Concorde... Airport '79 alongside Alain Delon and Robert Wagner, and Moon Over Parador. Charo released the album Charo and Guitar and the disco album Dance a Little Bit Closer.
