Lennie Niehaus

American saxophonist and composer (1929–2020)

Lennie Niehaus was an American saxophonist and composer (1929-2020). He served as a primary staff arranger for Stan Kenton, emerging as the lead alto soloist for the band. Niehaus scored the 1992 film Unforgiven. He also released albums Vol. 3: The Octet #2 and Vol. 5: The Sextet. Niehaus received a Primetime Emmy Award in 1994 for Outstanding Music Composition for a Limited Series, Movie, or Special for Lush Life. He collaborated with Clint Eastwood often, including doing the score for the movie The Bridges of Madison County.
