

Herbie Hancock
American jazz musician and composer
Herbie Hancock is an American jazz pianist and composer. His albums include Empyrean Isles, Maiden Voyage, Speak Like a Child, Head Hunters, Sextant, and River: The Joni Letters, for which he received Grammy Awards for Album of the Year and Best Contemporary Jazz Album. Hancock also composed the soundtrack to Round Midnight, for which he received the Academy Award for Best Original Score.
He has worked with Miles Davis in the Miles Davis Quintet and collaborated in the studio with Kendrick Lamar, Thundercat, and Flying Lotus. His most popular songs include Watermelon Man, Rockit, and Chameleon. Hancock appears in the films Round Midnight and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, as well as the documentary Oscar Peterson: Black + White.
