Ashanti is an American singer, songwriter, and actress who has sold over 30 million albums worldwide. She released her breakout single Foolish and Grammy-winning debut album Ashanti in 2002, selling over half a million copies in its first week, setting a record for a female debut artist and making her just the second artist—after The Beatles—to have their first three charting songs simultaneously occupy the Top 10. She went on to release Chapter II and Concrete Rose. Her most popular songs include What’s Love? with Fat Joe, Always On Time with Ja Rule, Happy, Rock Wit U (Awww Baby), and Rain On Me. Ashanti has also appeared in the films Coach Carter and John Tucker Must Die, as well as the television series Army Wives.
