In the 1970s, Greenwood transitioned from a day job as a Las Vegas blackjack dealer to securing a Nashville record deal facilitated by Mel Tillis's bandleader. Greenwood brings a soulful delivery to emotional country ballads and is known for writing and performing the patriotic anthem God Bless the U.S.A., one of his most popular songs.
