Helen Morgan was an American singer and actress (1900-1941). Morgan starred in the original production of Jerome Kern's Show Boat in 1927, where she played the role of Julie LaVerne. She released albums as well; her popular songs include Bill (From the Musical "Show Boat"), Lazy Weather, and What Wouldn't I Do for That Man!. Morgan appeared onstage in New York in Americana in the early 1920s and appeared in films such as Applause and Glorifying the American Girl in 1929. She passed away in 1941.
