Urbie Green
American jazz trombonist (1926–2018)
Urbie Green was an American jazz trombonist (1926-2018). He played with Woody Herman's Third Herd, Gene Krupa's orchestra between 1947 and 1950, and fronted the Tommy Dorsey ghost band in the 1960s. Green released albums including Blues and Other Shades of Green and The Fox. He collaborated with Antônio Carlos Jobim and Eumir Deodato on Brazil (A.k.A. Aquarela do Brasil) and with Rubin Hurricane Carter and Jobim on Tereza My Love and Choro. Green also appeared in the documentary film Jazz on a Summer's Day.
