Jorge Negrete was a Mexican actor and singer. He released albums including Lo Mejor De Jorge Negrete, Lo mejor de La Voz De México (Ranchera), and Yo Soy Mexicano. His most popular songs include Ay, Jalisco no te Rajes, Paloma querida, and Granada. After performing in New York, Negrete was hired by NBC, worked with Xavier Cugat, and booked at Latin clubs. He married film star María Felix in 1952, an event dubbed 'the wedding of the century'. Negrete appeared in films such as Dos tipos de cuidado, El peñón de las ánimas, and Reportage.
