English singer, songwriter and poet

Shaun Ryder is an English singer, songwriter, and poet. He formed Happy Mondays in the early 1980s and later Black Grape in 1993. With Happy Mondays, Ryder released Pills 'N' Thrills and Bellyaches, a big hit on the U.K. charts. With Black Grape, he released It's Great When You're Straight... Yeah, which debuted at No. 1 in England. Ryder went on to put out the albums Amateur Night in the Big Top and Visits from Future Technology. He collaborated with Lee 'Scratch' Perry on Green Banana and with Pino Palladino and Russell Watson on Barcelona (Friends Until The End); Monster is also among his well-known songs. Ryder has appeared in the film Rise of the Footsoldier 3: The Pat Tate Story.
