Larry Williams

American singer, songwriter, and pianist

Larry Williams was an American R&B and rock and roll singer, songwriter, and pianist. He released albums including Here's Larry Williams  and That Larry Williams. His most popular songs include Dizzy Miss Lizzy, Slow Down, and Short Fat Fannie.


After being a member of The Lemon Drops in Oakland, CA, he returned to his native New Orleans. There, with the help of Lloyd Price, he was introduced to Robert 'Bumps' Blackwell and signed a solo recording contract with Specialty Records. Along with releasing music, he appeared in the film Just for the Hell of It. Williams passed away in 1980.
