Cher
Cher is an American singer, actress, and television personality. She began her career as part of the duo Sonny & Cher with Sonny Bono, releasing hit singles such as the 1965 No. 1 I Got You Babe and becoming TV hosts in the early ’70s. She found further success as a solo artist throughout the subsequent decades, with hits including Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves, Half-Breed, If I Could Turn Back Time, the Academy Award-nominated After All (Love Theme from Chances Are) with Peter Cetera, and Believe (a chart-topper in 23 countries). Alongside those songs, albums such as Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves, Cher, Heart of Stone, and Believe — and an early ’80s stint in rock band Black Rose — contributed to her being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2024.
Cher is also known for acting work, and won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in the 1987 romantic comedy Moonstruck. She’s also appeared in Silkwood, Mask, The Witches of Eastwick, Burlesque with Christina Aguilera, and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.
