Shorty Rogers was an American West Coast jazz trumpeter, flugelhornist, and arranger. He performed with the bands of Will Bradley, Woody Herman, and Stan Kenton. Rogers released the albums Portrait of Shorty, Shorty Rodgers & André Previn in Collaboration with André Previn, and The Wizard Of Oz And Other Harold Arlen Songs. Rogers had popular songs including Coop De Graas and Scarf Dance. He appeared in the films Dementia and The Man with the Golden Arm and died in 1994.
