“For those new to this Compiled & Mixed series I put together every month exclusively here on Apple Music, these mixes give me the opportunity to really dig out music, old and new, that I rarely get to play in clubs and on my radio show Transitions,” says John Digweed. “This month’s selection has a real late-night vibe running through it, journeying through breaks, prog, and ghettotech.” Sure enough, press play on this May 2026 set and you’ll find yourself in a selection that feels just as much an immersive, small-hours journey as it does a DJ mix. “I start dreamy and hypnotic with tracks from Jovit and Exotica,” says Digweed, “before one of the month’s highlights, Ben di Gedig’s ‘Past Tense,’ of which I’ve included two versions. The original is a great breaks track with an almost ravey vocal, whilst the Delta Horizon mix, played later, is much deeper and really pushes up the emotion to a different level. stereo mind’s ‘Emotions Offline’ has a lush, emotional breakdown—definitely the most chilled track on this mix that I’ll be saving for any sunset sets I get to play in the coming months.” The mix then closes out with some essential listening from the ’90s. “DJ Godfather is included here with ‘Sporadic,’ a ghettotech anthem from Detroit in the ’90s. And wrapping up, I had to include ‘Loose Caboose’ from Electroliners. They were DJ Dan and Jim Hopkins, and it’s a seminal electro track from the West Coast scene in the mid ’90s. Sadly, DJ Dan passed recently—but with music as good as this, his legacy will live on.”
