John Grant is an American singer-songwriter. His solo career began after the dissolution of The Czars, during which time his songwriting became increasingly personal and political, and his sound evolved to incorporate synth pop and industrial music. Grant has released five studio albums: Pale Green Ghosts, Queen of Denmark, Grey Tickles, Black Pressure, and The Art of the Lie. His most popular songs include God's Gonna Cut You Down, Marz, and Sweet Painted Lady.
