Ivry Gitlis

Israeli violinist (1922-2020)

Ivry Gitlis was an Israeli violinist. He made his postwar debut with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Gitlis released several notable albums, including Huberman Festival 1982 with Itzhak Perlman and Zubin Mehta, Tchaikovsky: Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 35, TH 59 - Sibelius: Violin Concerto in D Minor, Op. 47 with Jascha Horenstein and Heinrich Hollreiser, and The Art of Ivry Gitlis. He collaborated with The Dirty Mac and Yoko Ono on Whole Lotta Yoko in The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus. Gitlis was known for his performances of various popular pieces, including Concerto in B Minor, RV 580: 3. Allegro. He also appeared in the film The Story of Adele H.
