Joe Zawinul was an Austrian jazz keyboardist and composer (1932-2007). He played piano with Cannonball Adderley for most of the 1960s and released pioneering records with Miles Davis. Zawinul wrote the hit song Birdland with Weather Report and released the albums Soulmates with Ben Webster, World Tour with The Zawinul Syndicate, and Zawinul. His most popular songs include The Fifth Canto, The Soul of a Village, Part II, and Doctor Honoris Causa. Zawinul appeared in the documentary Miles Davis: The Miles Davis Story.
