American singer (1904-1994)
Willie Mae Ford Smith was an American singer. She sang with her sisters as part of the Ford Sisters quartet. Smith co-founded the National Convention of Gospel Choirs and Choruses in 1932 and helped introduce the song-and-sermonette style of preaching. She released the album Going On With the Spirit and her most popular songs include Canaan, All Day, All Night, and The Name Jesus. Smith appeared in the documentary film Say Amen, Somebody.
