Bobby McFerrin is an American jazz singer-songwriter and musician. His 1988 album Simple Pleasures was his breakthrough, spending 55 weeks on the Billboard charts, and its single Don't Worry, Be Happy won Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Song of the Year. McFerrin released Medicine Music with his ten-member Voicestra, Beyond Words with Chick Corea, Bang!Zoom, and Hush with Yo-Yo Ma. His other popular songs include Common Threads and Blackbird. McFerrin has appeared in the documentary Alive Inside and the film Jazz & the Philharmonic.
