Tyler Mitchell is an American jazz bassist. He became an in-demand sideman in New York in the 1980s, touring and recording with Shirley Horn, Jon Hendricks, Art Taylor, Steve Grossman and Rashied Ali. Following his relocation to Mexico in the early 2000s, Mitchell began leading his own groups and working with various Latin jazz musicians. He released the albums Dancing Shadows, Live At Smalls, and Sun Ra’s Journey. Mitchell also released the songs Beautiful Love, Hours After, and Love On a Far Away Planet with Marshall Allen and Danny Thompson.
