Gertrude Niesen

American torch singer, actress, comedian and songwriter (1911-1975)

Gertrude Niesen was an American torch singer, actress, comedian, and songwriter. Her music works included the release of the song Where Are You, which was written for the film Top of the Town. Her most popular songs included In Paris, It's Love, Your Country and My Country, and Rockin' the Town. She featured in the Ziegfeld Follies of 1936 and appeared in the films Top of the Town, Start Cheering, This Is the Army, and Follow the Girls. She also appeared in the film The Babe Ruth Story.
