Roxanne Shanté is an American rapper. She is known for her response single Roxanne's Revenge which started the Roxanne Wars and for which she released an album titled Roxanne's Revenge. Her most popular songs include Roxanne's Revenge and Go On Girl. She released full-length albums, including The Ol' Skool Flava of...Nia with Sparky D, and joined the Juice Crew, pioneering the role of women in hip-hop. She retired from music to pursue a career in criminal psychology and has appeared in the series Hip Hop: The Songs That Shook America.
