Mavis Staples is an American singer. She was the lead singer of the Staple Singers, known for hit songs I'll Take You There and Let's Do It Again. She released solo albums such as Mavis Staples, Only For the Lonely, and We'll Never Turn Back. Her most popular songs include You Are Not Alone, Worthy, and Down in Mississippi. Staples released a collaboration with Levon Helm in 2022, appeared in the documentaries Mavis! and Rejoice & Shout, and the film Graffiti Bridge with Prince.
