Burning Spear is a Jamaican roots reggae musician. He made his recording debut in 1969, releasing the single Door Peep. An influential roots artist, Burning Spear released many albums including 1975's Marcus Garvey, 1976's Man in the Hills, 1976's Garvey’s Ghost, and 1980's Hail H.I.M.. He earned two Grammy Awards for Best Reggae Album for his albums Calling Rastafari and Jah is Real. Burning Spear has popular songs including Marcus Garvey, Slavery Days, and Hail H.I.M. He appears in the film Rockers.
