Thelma Carpenter was an American actress and musician (1922-1997). She released the album A Souvenir, starred in several Broadway revues, and appeared in the films The Devil’s Daughter and The Wiz. Carpenter was a frequent guest on Eddie Cantor’s radio show and worked with Coleman Hawkins, Count Basie, and Teddy Wilson. Her most popular songs include A Brand New Day and He’s the Wizard / March of the Munchkins.
