

Sergio Franchi
Italian-American tenor and actor (1926-1990)
Sergio Franchi was an Italian-American tenor and actor. Franchi issued a series of recordings for RCA including the albums Romantic Italian Songs and Wine and Song. He also recorded Do I Hear a Waltz? with Stephen Sondheim and Richard Rodgers. Among his most popular songs are Arrivederci Roma, ’A Vucchella, and Core ’Ngrato. Franchi appeared in the film The Secret of Santa Vittoria in 1969 and became an American citizen in 1972. He established the Sergio Franchi Music Foundation, which annually awards scholarships to students of vocal studies.
