G.E. Smith is an American musician. He was the lead guitarist for Hall & Oates from 1979 to 1985 and led the Saturday Night Live house band from 1985 to 1995. As a solo artist, he has released the albums In the World, Incense, Herbs & Oils, and Stony Hill with LeRoy Bell. Smith worked as a session musician and touring guitarist for artists like David Bowie, Mick Jagger, Bob Dylan, and Tina Turner. Smith also appeared as the guitarist in the film Gilda Live.
