Sara Martin
American blues singer (1884-1965)
Sara Martin was an American blues singer. Her albums include Sara Martin Vol. 1, Sara Martin Vol. 4, and The Famous Moanin' Mama. Martin was known for her popular songs Death Sting Me Blues, 'Tain't Nobody's Bus'ness If I Do, and Mama's Got the Blues. She performed on the southern TOBA circuit and recorded for OKeh Records from 1922. Martin retired from blues singing in the early 1930s and settled in her hometown of Louisville, Kentucky.
