Roger Edens
American composer (1905–1970)
Roger Edens was an American composer (1905-1970). Edens adapted songs for Broadway Melody Of 1936. He co-wrote Dear Mr. Gable, which Judy Garland performed, as well as a number of other songs for Garland. Edens received an Academy Award for Best Original Musical Score for the film Easter Parade. Some of his popular songs are Manhattan from the film Words and Music featuring Mickey Rooney and Bill Lee, and Two Choruses from Die Fledermaus with Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, D.C. and Marvin Weeks.
