Billie Holiday was an American jazz and swing music singer (1915-1959). Known as Lady Day, Holiday recorded with prominent jazz musicians including Teddy Wilson, Count Basie, and Artie Shaw from the mid-1930s to the mid-1940s. She released the albums Solitude, Lady Sings the Blues, and Lady in Satin. Her most popular songs include Strange Fruit, God Bless the Child, and Lover Man. She also appeared in the film New Orleans.
