Bill Crow

American bassist

Bill Crow is an American bassist. He transitioned from drumming in dance bands to a jazz bassist in the early 1950s, performing and recording with artists including Claude Thornhill, Stan Getz, Gerry Mulligan, and Al Haig. Crow has recorded two albums as a bandleader, From Birdland to Broadway in 1995 and Jazz Anecdotes in 1996. Outside of his musical career, Crow has written three books about his craft. He appears in the documentary The Jazz Loft According to W. Eugene Smith.
