Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky was a Russian composer. He composed the iconic ballets Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, and The Nutcracker, and the opera The Queen of Spades. He conducted the premiere of his tragic Symphony No. 6, Pathétique. Tchaikovsky's work has been recorded many times, including Sleeping Beauty (Motion Picture Soundtrack) with George Bruns, Tchaikovsky: Symphony No. 5 with the National Radio Orchestra of Romania and Christian Lindberg, and Tchaikovsky: The Nutcracker Suite with Christian Lindberg and the Nordic Wind Ensemble. Among his most popular songs is Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy.
