Margareth Menezes is a Brazilian politician, and singer. She released albums such as Afropopbrasileiro, Para Gil & Caetano, and Elegibo. The album Elegibo achieved first place in the world music category on the American charts and remained there for 11 weeks. Menezes has released popular songs including Eu Vim da Bahia, Elegibo, and Ramalhete de Flor. She participated in David Byrne's Rei Momo tour, and has toured extensively throughout Europe, Brazil, and the U.S.
