American musician, composer, and bandleader

Frank Zappa was an American musician (1940-1993). He led the avant-rock group the Mothers in the 1960s and released solo work that spanned several genres, including jazz-rock and orchestral pieces. Zappa released several albums, including Hot Rats, Apostrophe ('), and Joe's Garage: Acts I, II & III. He co-wrote and co-directed the musical film 200 Motels. Among his most popular songs are Joe's Garage, Willie The Pimp, and Watermelon In Easter Hay.
