Lars Ulrich is a Danish musician. He is a founding member and drummer of Metallica, which he helped form in the early 1980s after placing an ad in a Los Angeles music paper seeking musicians to start a band. Through Metallica, Ulrich has been a key figure in the American heavy metal scene. Ulrich has also appeared in the documentary Long Live Rock: Celebrate the Chaos and the films Hemingway & Gellhorn, and Metallica Through the Never.
