

Leslie Bricusse
English composer, lyricist and playwright (1931–2021)
Leslie Bricusse was an English composer, lyricist, and playwright (1931-2021). He co-wrote songs for 1971's Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory and received Academy Awards for Best Original Song Score for Victor/Victoria and Best Original Song for Talk to the Animals. He also received a Grammy Award for Song of the Year for What Kind of Fool Am I?. He also wrote music and lyrics for films including Doctor Dolittle, Goodbye, and Mr. Chips. Bricusse worked with Henry Mancini on the Bond theme Goldfinger and was a frequent collaborator with Anthony Newley.
