

Alejandro Sanz
Alejandro Sanz is a Spanish musician. He released albums including Más, El alma al aire for which he received the Latin Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 2001, and No es lo mismo. He also released La Música No Se Toca. Throughout the '90s, Sanz worked with flamenco legends like Paco de Lucía. He collaborated with Shakira on the global hit single La Tortura. His most popular songs include Hoy no me siento bien with Grupo Frontera, Amiga Mía, and Corazón Partío. Sanz has appeared in the documentary Shakira In Concert: El Dorado World Tour, the film Alejandro Sanz: + Es +, and the series Real Madrid: The White Legend.

When you’ve had the kind of career that Alejandro Sanz has had, one full of accolades and other such markers of unmitigated success, where to go next can prove a daunting question. An artist of his caliber is often expected to age unambitiously into their presumed legacy period, at least from fans who’ve connected with their expansive body of work through the decades. Thankfully, Sanz shows no signs of slowing down or settling into a so-called “greatest hits” mindset. On ¿Y ahora qué +?, which asks this existential question more directly than most, he bridges his 2019 and 2021 efforts, #ELDISCO and the semi-eponymous Sanz, with an expanded volume of his 2025 EP of new material that remains very much his own. Though he outperforms many of his peers on solo cuts like the vibrant “Las guapas,” collaboration across generations proves a core strength here. Notably, he brings the contemporary likes of Carín León and Manuel Turizo into his world rather than the other way around, as shown on “Mil motivos” and “Cómo sería.” Still, his Shakira reunion on “Bésame” should keep even his most stubborn listeners locked in.
