

Wayne Shorter
American jazz saxophonist and composer (1933–2023)
Wayne Shorter was an American jazz saxophonist and composer (1933-2023). He developed his own voice and style on the tenor saxophone, later adding elements of funk. In the 1960s, Shorter released albums including JuJu, Night Dreamer, Adam's Apple, and Speak No Evil. In the following decade, he released Native Dancer and Heavy Weather, the latter with the band Weather Report. He went on to issue many more albums and recordings over the next several decades.
Some of Shorter's most popular songs include Witch Hunt, Footprints, and the title track from Speak No Evil. Shorter also appeared in the documentaries Marcus, I Called Him Morgan, and Miles Davis - Birth of the Cool.
