Shelly Manne
American jazz drummer (1920-1984)
Shelly Manne was an American jazz drummer. He led the album At the Black Hawk for Contemporary Records and released his leader debut album Here's That Manne. Manne also released Empathy with Bill Evans, The Poll Winners with Ray Brown and Barney Kessel, and My Fair Lady. His popular songs include You Go To My Head and Satin Doll with Ray Brown and Barney Kessel, and Danny Boy with Bill Evans. Manne appeared in the films The Man with the Golden Arm and The Five Pennies.
