Michael Nesmith

American musician, singer-songwriter, and actor

Michael Nesmith was an American musician, singer-songwriter, and actor (1942-2021). He was a member of The Monkees. Nesmith is known for his popular songs Joanne, which he performed with The First National Band, as well as Some of Shelly's Blues and Different Drum. He released albums including The Wichita Train Whistle Sings, Infinite Rider on the Big Dogma, The Prison, and From a Radio Engine to the Photon Wing. Nesmith was the first artist to win a Music Video Grammy.
