Joan Sebastian

Mexican singer

Joan Sebastian was a Mexican singer. He received the Grammy Award for Best Mexican-American Album for Lo dijo el corazón and the Latin Grammy Award for Best Grupero Album for the same album in 2003. Sebastian also won the Latin Grammy Award for Best Banda Album for Afortunado in 2004.


He released the albums Secreto de Amor and Más Allá del Sol, and later co-wrote Vicente Fernández's Para Siempre. Sebastian was awarded the title of El Rey del Jaripeo (a.k.a. King of The Rodeo).
His most popular songs include Un Idiota, Eso y Más, and Más Allá del Sol. Sebastian appeared in the television series Amor sin maquillaje in 2007 and transitioned into rancheras and banda music in his later years before passing away in 2015.
